Our Vision
An independent ABC valued by all Australians and fully supported by government

About ABC Friends

We are a not-for-profit volunteer based organisation with 70,000 members and supporters across Australia. We have operating divisions in all states and territories.

If you value the ABC as we do we encourage you to join us.

Our Mission

To represent the community interest in defending and promoting the vital role of the ABC as a national public broadcaster and media organisation.

A strong ABC is vital to our democracy.

Our Strategy

We seek to influence government policies on the ABC and to ensure that it remains independent and is fully funded to fulfil its role as Australia’s national public broadcaster and media organisation as set out in the ABC Charter. Click this link to see a summary of the ABC Charter.
