We seek to influence government policies on the ABC and to ensure that it remains independent and is fully funded to fulfil its role as Australia’s national public broadcaster and media organisation as set out in the ABC Charter.
The Minister said the review will consider how best to provide greater certainty for announced funding. Funding certainty supports the stability and independence of the national broadcasters and guards against political interference.
Most complaints to the ABC relate to balance,bias and factural inaccuracy. The ABC ombudsman first report is published on the ABC Friends National web site. Read full report here.
